Dr Carole Brown qualified from Medical school in Cardiff in 1995 and spent the next four years training to be a GP in Cardiff, the Lake District and West Yorkshire.
She joined Whalley Surgery in October 2000 and enjoys the variety of General Practice.In her spare time, Dr Brown is an impressive skier, and often enjoys hitting the slopes at the local ski club with her daughters.

Dr Dalton joined the Practice in 2006. His main interests are MSK and sports medicine, but he enjoys the variety of general practice. Dr Dalton became an ST3 trainer in 2008 and performs minor surgery procedures such as cyst removals and cryotherapy at the surgery.

Dr Green studied medicine at the University of Manchester, before completing the final stages of his training as a Registrar at the surgery.
After joining the surgery as a salaried GP in 2016, Dr Green became a partner the following year and enjoys focusing on General Practice as a whole. Dr Green is also the lead GP for a local psychiatric service.

Dr Thornber studied at the University of Southampton, graduating in 2012. She joined our practice as a trainee in 2019, becoming a salaried GP later in 2021. Her clinical interests include women’s health and acting as a clinical supervisor for GP trainees. Dr Thornber is also the designated GP for a local care home. Outside of the surgery, Dr Thornber is an excellent seamstress, and can often be seen sporting her own handiwork at the practice. Dr Thornber became the newest Partner to the Practice in April 2023.

Our FENT Team
The FENT, or Frail and Elderly Nursing Team, is a team of nurses, based at the Whalley Practice, who work alongside local care homes and in the community, to offer in-home care and support for the most vulnerable members of our community. The FENT, alongside the excellent in home care they provide, are able to advise on accessing mobility aids, 24-hour live in care and many other areas. The FENT are accessible via referral from a GP or other Healthcare professional. Our Clinical Pharmacists
Clinical Pharmacists work across the PCN. Their role involves reviewing patient medication and some long term conditions such as hypertension. They have also played a key role in the running of our COVID Vaccination clinics held at the Clitheroe Health Centre.
Mr Conor Corbett is the Clinical Pharmacist based at the Whalley Practice and works full time running clinics both in person and over the telephone.

We also have a FCP at the surgery, Mr Pete Burns. Pete is an experienced MSK specialist, who has the advanced skills necessary to assess, diagnose and recommend appropriate treatment or referral for musculoskeletal (MSK) problems.
Pete is based at the Whalley site, and offers assistance with any joint or muscle pains that would typically be treated with physiotherapy.
Pete runs his clinic on Tuesday’s, and appointments can be booked by phoning our reception team on 01254 919888.

Our Dispensary Team
The dispensary team deal with all the requests for repeat prescriptions and dispense drugs to patients who live in our dispensary area. They also work closely with local chemists in arranging prescriptions for home delivery to patients.
