About Us

Situated in the Ribble Valley, based in Whalley, which is at the confluence of three rivers, the Ribble, Hodder and Calder. Overlooked by Pendle Hill with its well-known associations with the Lancashire Witches. Whalley is an ancient village on a now ruined Cistercian Abbey.

The main surgery is in Whalley, with its long established village community and the surrounding farming area of the Ribble Valley, as well as the more recent development of managerial and executive commuters employed in the neighbouring towns. The area benefits from low unemployment rates. A branch surgery is sited three miles away in Sabden and serves the village and surrounding immediate neighbouring farms on Pendle Hill.

Whalley is ideally situated for ready access to the extensive motorway system of Lancashire and on to Greater Manchester, with the Lake District and Manchester only one hour away and the Lancashire coast resorts only half an hour away. There are excellent educational and recreational facilities in the district. Clitheroe is a small market town three miles away from Whalley and still retains its Grammar school system. There is also a good choice of other secondary and primary schools in the area.

The total list size is approximately 14,635, mainly rural, but with most patients within a five mile radius of the Whalley Surgery.

The Practice strives to provide a high quality and friendly service and has a full compliment of attached staff visiting the Practice on a weekly basis.
